Rajesh Ramanand
Founder

Rajesh Ramanand is the Founder of TextBound, a company that was started out of winning the FedEx Institute of Technology Business Plan Competition in the Summer of 2007. He writes mean code, although a lot of it is in PowerPoint these days. Rajesh is also a part-time Doctoral student in Computer Science at the University of Memphis. His current research is on Text Classification problems and he has published scientific articles in the area. Before TextBound, Rajesh worked at FedEx Innovation Labs, the R&D division of FedEx Corporation, developing cutting edge products that FedEx used to distinguish itself from the competition. Rajesh graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's in Computer Science and brings a strong background in software design and development.


 

Marc Diaz
Partner

Throughout his working experience, Marc Diaz has been intrigued with the convergence of business and technology making things simpler and more streamlined. He applied this practice to the real estate industry, founding and operating several ventures. Marc has been a frequent lecturer on entrepreneurship and most recently co-founded Mercury Technology Labs to accelerate venture creation in the Mid-South. Marc serves as the Entrepreneur in Residence at the FedEx Institute of Technology located on the campus of the University of Memphis, with primary responsibility for the business plan competition. Marc has a B.B.A., M.S. in Electronic Commerce and a J.D. all from the University of Memphis.


 

Eric Mathews
Partner

Eric Mathews is the co-founder of Mercury Technology Labs, a venture creation and business development accelerator. Eric was formerly the Associate Director of Corporate Research and Development of the FedEx Institute of Technology where he was responsible for leading economic development activities as well as strategic business relationships. Eric’s career has been entrenched in the various stages of business development, including the founding, directing, and developing of several businesses in the fields of technology, manufacturing, and consumer products. Eric has a B.S. in Chemistry from Rhodes College, and an M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Memphis. Eric confers with industry and has been quoted in international and local press outlets on the use and influence of technology in modern business.
